Its been exciting and a lot of work putting on this swim. Steve and I have been sweating all the details and doing our best to put on the very first ever Ka'iwi Channel Swim race. I guess some of that hard work attracted the attention of the World
Open Water Swimming Association and after many talks and a dozen or so emails, they have agreed to sanction our event.
Basically that means that we will conform to their standards on how a swim like this should go. They give us help with organization, insurance and marketing and the race is will be even better than than we thought it would be - which is really amazing. So before the race even starts, it just got better.
